Strategic Marketplace Initiative (SMI) Announces New Chair

Scituate, MA (January 17, 2017):    The Strategic Marketplace Initiative (SMI®), a non-profit, member-driven consortium of healthcare supply chain thought-leaders based in Massachusetts, recently announced Susan Schuette from Halyard Health as the new Chair of the SMI Board of Directors effective January 1, 2017. 

Susan Schuette has been a long-time member and board member of SMI and currently serves as Vice President, Corporate Accounts for Halyard Health, a medical technology company,headquartered in Alpharetta, GA.  She follows Jim Francis, Division Chair of Supply Chain Management at Mayo Clinic who served as Chair from 2015-2016.  Also, joining the SMI Board in 2017, Laurel Junk, Chief Supply Chain & Procurement Officer at Kaiser Permanente and Joe Walsh, Executive Vice President of Operations at Pensiamo. 

The mission of SMI is to bring both providers and suppliers together, in a collaborative, non-competitive environment to help shape the future of the healthcare supply chain.  The board of directors, under the leadership and guidance of the SMI Chair, works to determine the strategic direction of the organization and to preserve the mission and vision of SMI.
